My name is Annie Simmons and I have lived in Worth since April 2009. I married my husband John in July 2010 in the village church of St Peter and St Paul. I have recently taken early retirement for family reasons, after 20 years as a Primary School teacher.
This gives me the perfect opportunity and the time to get involved more fully in village life and in particular the school. It was a pleasure and a delight to have been invited to join the Board of Governors in November 2019.
I’ve been involved with education, children and their families for over 35 years; working in the voluntary and paid sector covering pre-school provision to Year 6. I’ve had many rewarding roles; parent, grandparent, teaching assistant, parent governor, teacher governor and teacher.
My current contribution to village life is as Secretary to the Parochial Church Council of St Peter and St Paul Church. I’m also a Trustee of the St Peter and St Paul Worth Preservation Trust. I’ve joined the newly formed Worth Walking Group, and I enjoy family life, gardening and reading.
I’m really looking forward to working alongside a dedicated team to promote the very best opportunities for each and every pupil at Worth Primary School.
