Butterfly Class - Year 2

A very warm welcome to you.

We are Butterfly class at Worth Primary School. The class has children in years 2. Our class teacher is Mrs Jones, with Mrs Osborne currently covering until January 2027 whilst Mrs Jones is on maternity leave. Butterfly Class are supported where needed by our talented Teaching Assistants within the school. These members of staff are responsible for your children when they are in school. We work closely together to ensure all children are happy, safe and secure and plan activities which engage and excite all the children at appropriate levels.

We are a hardworking class with high expectations. We always try to do our best and this is rewarded with lots of fun while we are learning too. We encourage our children to go about their day with a positive mindset and always celebrate super learning efforts as a whole class.

As the children progress in Butterfly class we encourage independence and would encourage the children to organise their belongings each day. We read daily and for this reason books should always be in school.

We moved to a pure year 2 class in January 2026, however we still wanted flexibility with our year 1 and 2 cohort and decided to keep our mixed year 1 and 2 curriculum, this will also ensure coverage this year and next year. We have ensured that our children are building on their prior learning, securing their foundational knowledge before moving into KS2.
