Sports Premium

Sports funding is changing this academic year 2026-2027, with new arrangements being introduced over the coming months and funding periods. Rather than changing everything at once, the new approach will be phased in as existing funding comes to an end and new funding is allocated. Parents may therefore notice changes gradually, including how activities are funded, which programmes receive support, and how funding is used to improve facilities, equipment and opportunities for children. We will keep families informed as the changes are introduced and provide clear information about anything that directly affects the sports opportunities available to your child.

PE & Sport Premium is government funding to schools which is use for improving the quality and quantity of PE lessons and sports provision. We must use the funding to make sustainable improvements in PE and sports.

This means that we use the Primary PE and Sport Premium to:

• develop or add to the PE and sport activities that we already offer
• build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years

We continually reflect on the impact of current provision, reviewing how effectively we use the Primary PE and Sport Premium and how we measure its impact on outcomes for pupils. This is monitored by governors led by Mick Brazier.

Worth Primary School has developed a successful partnership with Team Theme, working closely with Coach George to enhance the quality and variety of our sports provision. Through this partnership, pupils benefit from engaging PE lessons, more active and purposeful playtimes, and a wider range of exciting sports clubs. Coach George has become a valued part of school life, helping children to develop their skills, confidence and enjoyment of physical activity while creating more opportunities for every child to get active and involved.
