I am pleased to have been given the opportunity to join the Governing Body at Worth Primary school.
As a retired teacher I bring with me a wealth of experience. After graduating I taught in the Early Years and Primary sectors for over thirty years where I managed staff, students, budgets and curriculum. I also provided guidance and support to schools at County level in my roles as SATs moderator and Leading Early Years Foundation Stage Teacher.
Teaching was always a vocation for me, so when Tracey Sandy took time out to guide me around school it gave me such pleasure to see confident children actively engaging in their learning and keen to share what they had discovered.
Since retiring I have been involved in the voluntary sector where amongst others, I support the Sandwich Museum and Archive, and a couple of days a week I help to run the Pilgrims Hospice shop in Sandwich with a great team of other volunteers.
I hope that the skills I bring with me will help support the dedicated staff and fellow Governors as they work hard to provide a stimulating, secure and happy environment for the children, and as they constantly strive to raise standards to ensure that every child at the school fulfils their potential.
